TOPEKA, Kan. (July 25, 2024) – On Saturday, July 20, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Topeka ER & Hospital celebrated its fourth anniversary with a community event at the Topeka Zoo for the third year in a row. The event offered the first 500 guests free admission to the zoo as a thank you for their continued support and the opportunity to celebrate the hospital’s achievements over the years.
Despite the light rain, there was a turnout of more than 500 people. The event featured a giveaway of two pairs of tickets to the Jelly Roll and Warren Zeiders concert as part of 94.5 Country’s “Summer Concert Road Trip.” Additionally, the traveling exhibit “Sean Kenney’s Animal Super Powers,” made with LEGO bricks, was on display for all to enjoy.
“Our goal when we started was to be something different in the community. We wanted to make emergency medicine something that people weren’t inconvenienced by and afraid of,” said Jared Schreiner, MD, Chief Medical Officer at Topeka ER & Hospital. “We want to be ingrained in this community, and we wanted to be somebody that gave back to the community and thanked them for all the love they’ve given us.”
Without the staff’s dedication and the community’s support, the success seen over the past years would not be possible. Topeka ER & Hospital only anticipates more for the community as the medical facility continues to provide exceptional and convenient care as the go-to neighborhood hospital.
